The Peter and Margaret Nwomeh Foundation (PNF) was founded in 2014 in Ozalla, Enugu State, Nigeria, by the children of the late Peter Nwomeh. It was created to honor their parents’ unwavering belief in education as a vehicle for community transformation. Peter Nwomeh, a dedicated educator, spent his life mentoring students, providing resources, and fostering academic excellence. His wife, Margaret, equally shared this passion, devoting herself to service and community upliftment.

Recognizing the need to expand their reach, the Foundation established The Peter Nwomeh Foundation USA (PNFUSA) in 2017, bridging global resources to local needs. In 2024, following Margaret’s passing, both organizations were renamed in her honor, ensuring that her contributions to education and humanitarian work would never be forgotten. Today, PNF continues to impact countless lives in Ozalla, Obe, and surrounding communities, promoting education, empowerment, and sustainable development.

I have a personal connection to this legacy. Growing up in the same Umunnajinwude clan as the Nwomeh family, I was surrounded by stories of Peter’s remarkable contributions. He was not just a revered figure; he was my great uncle, and his name was synonymous with excellence and service. His story fueled my determination to pursue academic success and, one day, contribute to my community just as he did.

A Dream Realized

Hailing from Umuoha Village in the Umuokorouba Autonomous Community of Ozalla, Nkanu West Local Government Area in Enugu State, I had always envisioned a future shaped by knowledge and leadership. I pursued my undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, driven by a passion for governance and societal development. However, like many students, financial constraints posed a significant challenge.

On March 12, 2022, I was awarded the PNF Scholarship, and from that moment, my academic journey took a transformative turn. The scholarship, which I successfully completed in March 2024, was not just financial aid—it was a recognition of my potential and an encouragement to push beyond my limits.
