The Peter and Margaret Nwomeh Foundation was honored to receive the Community Recognition Award during the Ozalla Forum's 10th Anniversary Celebration, held on April 5, 2026 — a milestone event celebrating a decade of community leadership, development, and partnership in Ozalla.
The photographs from graduation day tell a remarkably familiar story — certificates, smiles, the relief of a milestone reached. But the most important part of the story begins only after the cameras are put away. This spring, five young people from Ozalla completed vocational training in tailoring and fashion design through the Fashion Future Program in Aba.
Eight young people from Ozalla have started training in emerging technology, sponsored by the Peter and Margaret Nwomeh Foundation — a step beyond university scholarships, into the digital skills increasingly shaping how young people learn, work and earn.
Education is one of the most powerful tools for transformation, both personal and societal — yet quality education remains out of reach for many students. For me, the Peter and Margaret Nwomeh Foundation scholarship was far more than financial assistance. It was a life-changing opportunity that allowed me to pursue my academic dreams.

Peter Nwomeh was my mentor from childhood and my baptismal godfather. He did not stop there — he nurtured me during my primary school days, and I served him as a houseboy between 1959 and 1960 before he left for further studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
